Avoid falling victim to fraud. With our world’s reliance on technology, it’s important to keep yourself informed of the latest cyber scams. Chances are, you’ve already been a target of a cybercriminal or fraudster. One common type of fraud is referred to as Social Engineering. 

Social engineering is a technique used to manipulate a victim into disclosing information or taking a specific action. Fraudsters will communicate with an intended target by saying they are from a trusted organization or financial institution.  They may even impersonate someone the target knows.

In fact, the Federal Trade Commission’s report on fraud estimates that American consumers lost a staggering $5.8 billion to phishing scams and other fraud in 2021—an increase of more than 70 percent over 2020.
